Baby First Year- First Three Months

To lift the baby’s head for short time, make arm movements, move head from side to side, and bring hands to face will be the development milestones in the first month of the baby first year .Babies prefer more human faces than other ordinary shapes, the reflex movements also have an improvement , they will also be able to look for objects which are 8 inches to 12 inches away, they respond well to familiar voices and some times blink their eyes when seeing bright lights .During the second month the babies start recognizing voices and keep track of them , they also make sounds and do repeated sounds in vowel forms like aah ,ooh . Third month is a time when the development of a baby is accelerated. They lift their head up to 45 degrees, open their hands, straighten legs, identify dangling objects and try to reach them, can push down legs while lying on hard surfaces and they also like to shake and play with hand toys. They try to imitate sounds, grasp toys, develop hand eye coordination; they move in spiral and circular patterns, can hold their head up with controlled movements and also develop a social smile. Thus during the first three months of a baby first year the babies develop the basic actions and sounds.
